The location near the Bab Souk gate is quite accessible, providing an excellent balance of convenience and tranquility, which I found refreshing compared to other accommodations. The rooftop terrace offers a delightful retreat for relaxation and socializing with fellow travelers. I was left wishing for more from the service aspect. While the staff was friendly, especially Ashraf, I encountered moments where assistance could have been more proactive, particularly regarding local recommendations and transportation arrangements. I had to independently seek out information for my excursions. The room was reasonably clean but lacked some comforts-most notably a working heater during cooler nights and adequate water temperature control. Dar Gabriel provides decent value in a bustling, picturesque setting, but potential guests should weigh the modest amenities against pricing, particularly if seeking a more luxurious experience. For the budget-conscious traveler, it's a reasonable option.
